French Walnut Palladian Cheval Mirror c.1840A striking large scale floor standing French Palladian Cheval mirror c. 1840 Created from figured walnut veneer. The graphic streamlined Palladian style is strongly influenced by the sixteenth century architect Andrea Palladio. Characterised with Classical forms, strict proportions and austere exteriors. The tilting mirror is held on minimal brass brackets by two Palladian columns. The surmounting top is based on the elevations of Roman temple
